  • As long as all it is is something like a bot that checks a website and posts the latest links in it’s own sealed off community ( just the bot allowed to post and maybe comments off to keep discussion on posts done by actual people ), I don’t have much of a problem with it as long as it doesn’t interact with others in the comments, real or bot. And as long as there’s something like an icon to clearly show it’s something like an RSS bot, I don’t mind. Reporting them, I’d say they’re fine not to be as long as they don’t interact with people.

But other types of bots? Spam posting bots? Yeah, maybe we shouldn’t have them and they should be reported, after actually assessing whether or not they’re an actual bot account and not just someone without a life. I don’t care how much lower it makes the daily post count and such drops, I’d rather see less things that are posted by a human than more things posted by bots.

Also, this comment has made me a little annoyed because with how I have my phones keyboard set up, every time I type “bot” it wants so badly to autocorrect to “not” instead.

  • Had to think through the fuzzy memories, but I can absolutely recall some of the fun things, like the occasional times my speech therapist let me play games on her desktop. Can’t remember them all by name, but there was a Pajama Sam game, SpyFox ( Operation Ozone ), some point and click puzzle game for older kids, and some activity center game.

There are plenty of memories of me playing video games, either by myself or with my brothers or friends ( mine and/or theirs ). Hell, my earliest memory is a bit of a toss up for me, but it was either me playing a Tetris like Egypt themed ps1 anime game ( that I already forgot the name of despite finding it a few days ago ), Yoshi’s Story on n64, and some pirate themed edutainment PC game.

I also have a lot of memories of watching an absolute ton of cartoons growing up since our cable package had Cartoon Network, Dosney, and Nickelodeon available. Watched all the new shows coming out on CN and Nick, mostly. Alongside all the 90s reruns and a ton of the old Turner Classic stuff CN shoved onto Boomerang before basically getting rid of those shows. Can still remember the channels were the 170s and 181 for a second CN that for some reason ran the exact same programming at a later time than the other CN channel.

As an adult, I don’t try to chase the same high as some of my childhood memories. I don’t know if it’s an autism thing with me or what, but I am not huge on chasing after nostalgia, despite still watching a lot of the old cartoons of my past. I still look back with nostalgia, but like the life I currently live, so I’m fine not completely turning around for that nostalgic blast from the past.

    Edit:

Though I’m not huge on being super nostalgic, I wouldn’t mind getting a set of the plastic marble trick whatever track thingamajigs ( things like a funnel, wavy half pipes, etcetera ) just to try and pair it up with other things to create a Rube Goldberg machine to do something in the least efficient manner, just for fun.

  • Well, if we’re allowing the textbook that I’m going through chapter by chapter weekly in college, Legoshi of Beastars fame would probably be learning HTML and CSS so he can properly design a website. Don’t know why, but that sounds kinda funny.

Textbooks not included, it’d be a weird mix of Bakuman ( a story about a couple of kids ( starting off near the end of 8th grade ) who wanna become mangaka ) and the world of Beastars, where anthros roam the streets. I wanna say at some point it was confirmed that humans do exist in the Beastars universe but are basically super rare or something like that, so it’s not completely out of the question.

  • Okay, so, I got a copy of Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast and played a little last night and I was super excited. I broke my personal rule of not buying Japanese games straight from Japan because the eBay price was real cheap. If I had a cap for my VMU and was sure the thing worked when batteries are in, I would absolutely have a Chao with me on the go, probably a day I know the odds of me losing my VMU or damaging it was low.

I also have been enjoying a pokemon fan game called Pokemon Berilo. It’s a fan game in Spanish that has an ENG translation version. Currently a demo build but might be lengthy. I’ve played for a few hours and am basically just getting to gym 1 because I have been so busy with side quests and catching things. I love it because they have a custom pause menu UI and that’s so much nicer than the maybe 2 defaults people use for their games.

  • Others have suggested FMHY and piracy communities, but besides the normal advice of having a trustworthy enough VPN and not g••gling something like “free movie torrent” and just clicking on the first link/links, one thing I’ve learned is just, assuming the file is somewhere around 750Mb, I think, seeing what VirusTotal has to say about it is advised.

Also, avoiding programs like BitTorrent in favor of things like Qbittorrent or Transmission is probably a good step. Last I checked, one of the communities said that at one point BitTorrent, or one of the old torrent clients, had become a virus ridden shell of its past.

Speaking of torrent clients, binding your client to your VPN is a good idea. You definitely don’t want your torrents to continue when your VPN disconnects you for any reason. Different clients may have different ways of doing it, or the setting will be in a different spot, so looking up how to do it for your client is a good idea, if you don’t know how to.

Though, I think this final part is real important for your safety when visiting certain sites to find torrents: have some form of working adblock! Because no reputable business want their ads on a piracy website, you might get caught up in a situation where you might get invisible full-screen ads that will take you to porn sites or other probably virus riddled sites just by clicking, sometimes without any way to get rid of said ads. That, or you’ll get lucky and the site just has normal ad placements, but they’re still not something you should click on.

  • I would never use the spray stuff near others. I’m never in a situation where I spray it anywhere near people, only myself in my bedroom. Especially since my brother used to have asthma and I would never want to intentionally do something that could trigger it for others. Can relate to probably inhaling some and possibly getting a tiny bit in one eye.

It’s also almost never I have the spray stuff, but if it’s environmentally bad, I’ll definitely have to switch to the gel.

  • I’ve become an either gel or spray deodorant type of man anymore. If I have a stick of the more solid stuff from the local food bank, I’m not gonna be super picky or complain about that because it’s free deodorant, but if I’m buying, gel or spray has become my new favorite.

I presume it’s less prevalent because I usually see way more of the more solid stuff than the gel and have a harder time finding the spray, in store because I know I can easily find it online, but I’d rather get it at the store while I’m already getting other things as well.

  • I hope this is a joke, because it’s the most useful search engine I have ever used in the past decade.

Cannot speak for anyone else, but I have been having problems with my preferred SearXNG instances returning garbage results that have nothing to do with what I searched. Before anyone asks, no I am unable to self-host my own personal instance and don’t feel like changing settings every time I close and reopen my browser.
