Does he ever wash those clothes?

My biggest problem with AI is that currently it is a very shitty tool that outputs nonsense 9 out of 10 times while big tech pretends it is totally awesome, which like you say, makes it being forced on you even more frustrating.
Is it here to stay? Yes I believe so. But it needs a lot of work in a lot of area’s to be truly useful.
123 is NTP, used for time synchronisation. Often a pool of servers is used.

I think the pop has already begun. Look at the silver and gold prices. 2026 is going to be a stock market massacre.

Back to self hosted datacenters it is. We rely on big tech way too much.

True but the impact of these AWS/Azure/Google outages is huge and affects companies and services world wide.

Earlier this year, Geoffrey Hinton, dubbed the “Godfather of AI,” highlighted the severe wealth disparity that AI developments could generate.
“We’re talking about having a huge increase in productivity. So there’s going to be more goods and services for everybody. So everybody ought to be better off, but actually it’s going to be the other way around,” Hinton stated during a panel discussion. “And it’s because we live in a capitalist society.”
“And so what’s going to happen is: this huge increase in productivity is going to make much more money for the big companies and the rich, and it’s going to increase the gap between the rich and the people who lose their jobs. And as soon as you increase that gap, you get fertile ground for fascism,” he continued. “And so it’s very scary that we may be at a point where we’re just making things worse and worse.”
This seems spot-on to me. All you downvoters obviously didn’t read the article.
Yeah I ran into this as well. Wondered why it needs a call to auth for public container images in the first place.

Sabotaging his own interests is all he does. Should have stuck to running his businesses and not get involved in politics, calling people names, doing nazi salutes, etc. Fuck around and find out is his motto it seems.

Obama did not make Elon a narcissist cry baby now did he?

Gitlab was created by a ukranian and dutch developer originally but today Gitlab stock is traded on Nasdaq and its HQ is listed as San Francisco (wikipedia). I use it selfhosted but I don’t think gitlab.com can be seen as European anymore.
Correct me if I’m wrong.
Firefox. I can’t imagine they would do something stupid like this with the little marketshare they have, but nothing surprises me anymore.
Does ublock work with any of these alternatives?

I reported this post because it hurts the dev for no reason. Hope it gets removed but the damage is already done. People are stupid.

Someone’s 3D printer at home did some serious overtime there.

I have no idea either. Sure, chrome is a little faster but its a minor difference in my opinion. Been using it for a long time and have no idea why it’s so unpopular.

After many years of tiling wms I recently settled on Plasma. I found that tiling causes more issues than it solves (window rules much?!). For me tiling only is useful for terminals but there are other solutions for that (tmux for example).
I had to get used to not being able to do workspace per monitor anymore but now I am using Activities which works really well actually. I am a dev and have a 3 monitor setup, one for logging (bunch of terminals), one for coding and one for the output of the project I am working on (browser).
I also play games for which Plasma is perfect, its xwayland implementation is flawless, even on HiDPI which cannot be said of Hyprland for example.
Tl;dr I like Plasma.
Because the FCC has jurisdiction over all of space around our globe?
It is about damn time something is being done about the amount of crap that is being launched into orbit.
