Some people just don’t value their own privacy and choose to use discord. It’s not like discord hasn’t always been intended as a honeypot of sorts for collecting user data.

I especially love folks who run their “forum” for privacy centered software on discord…it’s just embarrassing.

Seems solid, although I think it’s safe to say for the core function it doesnt look as powerful as word (which is fair since most people don’t need that) and it does seem to have nice add-ons like graphs and code blocks.

I would be cautious about using a markdown editor and assuming it’s cross-compatible. Core markdown is shockingly limited, and every other flavor seems just a little bit different from one another. Whether it’s how they do code blocks, or how they add other functions, there’s always something. But as long as you’re not switching between tools that’s no risk.

That’s not the problem of a text editor from the 90s. That’s the problem of people who need that function. If only there were several fine tools for that function that already exist.

Microsoft word also doesn’t let me edit SOLIDWORKS files, and yet I somehow find it in my heart to not shit on word for this.

I can absolutely get behind hating oracle. Not only was oracle always evil, they also prop java which is terrible. And now the family has gotten into MAGA propaganda. It’s an awful family and company and product.

I disagree with your description of edge though. It’s more like the evil version of inspector gadget. Like if he was corrupted by the oracle corporation and every gadget was turned nefarious. This kinda breaks down because chrome is also evil but whatever I still think it works.

It’s hard to imagine being so butthurt at a piece of now-defunct, 20-year-old software that you pretend it still is the default just so you can call it a dumb name.
