minus-squarestoy@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up17arrow-down3·1 year agoThats a 3080, I don’t want to go last generation…
minus-squareflashgnash@lemm.eelinkfedilinkarrow-up9·1 year agoIt’s also Nvidia and will bring pain and suffering trying to game on linux
minus-squareJohanno@feddit.delinkfedilinkarrow-up10arrow-down1·1 year agoBut it’s better than the 40 series
minus-squarestoy@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up3arrow-down1·1 year agoIs the 3080 better than the 4080?
minus-squareJohanno@feddit.delinkfedilinkarrow-up5·1 year agoWell for a raw performance the 40 might be a tiny bit better, but the lesser vram is probably more of an issue when gaming. And the price is just crazy
minus-squarestoy@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 year agoI am considering getting this monster display to replace my current Phillips office monitor: https://www.asus.com/us/displays-desktops/monitors/proart/proart-display-pa348cgv/ And I wonder if my 3070 could run it in games at an acceptable framerate…
minus-squareJohanno@feddit.delinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 year agoWhile I am no expert I would assume that the 3070 should not have any issues on 4k. However sth like starfield might have performance issues
minus-squarestoy@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up3·1 year agoIt is slightly below 4k, 2k and 120hz, the actual resolution doesn’t worry me that much, but the framerate does… Anyway, I do feel a bit cheated by nVidia as my GPU only got 8GB memory and the 4070 has 12…
minus-squarelorty@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 year agoIt will depend on whether the games you play support dlss and frame gen and if you’d use those features.
minus-squareAlex@feddit.rolinkfedilinkarrow-up8·1 year agoHey, you got a problem with my GPU? (Other than it being from Nvidia)
minus-squareBene7rddso@feddit.delinkfedilinkarrow-up1arrow-down1·1 year agoIt doesn’t have mainline drivers
minus-squarestoy@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up5arrow-down1·1 year agoStill last gen, and it does perform well, I have a 3070, upgraded a year ago from a 970

I said other than it being nvidia
I never mentioned your GPU…
That was merely 3 years ago.
