minus-squareBellaDonna@mujico.orglinkfedilinkarrow-up8·1 year agoAs someone who doesn’t cook, now I’m not clear on which you don’t put in the oven, and what kind of paper you are supposed to use.
minus-squaredroans@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up12·1 year agoParchment can go in the oven. Wax paper will catch on fire if you try. I learned it the hard way.
minus-squareStinkywinks@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up4arrow-down10·1 year agoWhy are people putting paper in the oven?
minus-squareradix@lemm.eelinkfedilinkarrow-up15·1 year agoPrevents the thing you’re cooking from basically getting fused to the metal pan.
minus-squareStinkywinks@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up3arrow-down6·1 year agoWell they make non stick baking sheets, but I’ll use spray anyways
minus-squaredvlsg@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up5arrow-down1·1 year agoNon stick baking sheets are basically just pre cut parchment paper.
minus-squarewieson@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoStinkywink is probably talking about the metal sheet (baking tray in AE?) being nonstick.
minus-squareelscallr@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2arrow-down1·1 year agoHe’s talking about silpats.
minus-squareStinkywinks@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2arrow-down2·1 year agoMinus the paper part lol
minus-squareEccitaze@yiffit.netlinkfedilinkarrow-up6·1 year agoWorks better than non-stick, and keeps the pan clean enough for immediate reuse, which is really nice e.g. if you’re baking multiple batches of cookies for a holiday event
