Well I’m not in Kentucky but the company was Fastenal and they definitely have warehouses there. They’re a big international industrial supplier. I was only warehouse adjacent when I worked for them but I know the warehouse benefits and pay were pretty middle of the road in my location. They’ve got a whole internal education program which is actually surprisingly good. All in all it wasn’t a bad place to work.

If you want fitness then pick to light in one of their warehouses will definitely get you that. And they definitely do forklift training. Idk if I can link here but if you just google fastenal then they will pop up.

In most factories and warehouses they generally don’t give a damn what you wear as long as it covers the important bits and it isn’t a safety issue. I have a friend that literally just works in her sports bra on hot days at her warehouse job and nobody cares. Odds are they will also pay much better than retail too. Of course depending on the environment there may be special considerations like steel toe shoes or such. But steel toes are alt fashion anyways.

If you’re just getting rid of a body you don’t need a new one. You don’t care about contamination in that case. You can get those barrels used for dirt cheap. If you know where a boat landing is then you may even be able to steal one from underneath a dock for free and without leaving any paper trail.

My city actually has surprisingly decent cops. They regularly train with the county social workers for conflict de-escalation and dealing with neurodivergent individuals. So I’m normally not too hesitant to call them. I’ve had to call them for various instances minor and otherwise and they have always conducted themselves very well. However if you go one town over the cops are known for being maladjusted shitbags that will use every opportunity they have to exert their power over someone. So if I’m in their jusrisdiction then I will never call the cops unless it is literally life or death. So it really depends on where I am.

A company I used to work for outsourced most of their coding to a company in India. I say most because when the code came back the internal teams anways had to put a bunch of work in to fix it and integrate it with existing systems. I imagine that, if anything, LLMs will just take the place of that overseas coding farm. The code they spit out will still need to be fixed and modified so it works with your existing systems and that work is going to require programmers.

I’m not arguing the philosophy. It’s a wonderful idea. As someone who regularly drives a stick shift I very much wish that it would work. But like many wonderful ideas it doesn’t survive contact with actual humans. In any large city if there is a car length open in front of your vehicle then someone will be zipping into it. I’ve had people do that while we’re traveling at 65mph let alone in slow moving traffic. If you keep sitting there and letting people go in front of you until there is room then you will not move and you will probably get shot by one of the people stuck behind you. It’s like if you were at the grocery store durring a busy time and you kept telling people to go in front of you then you wouldn’t be able to check out until everyone was gone.

I see most people answered your questions but just so you’re aware, the only reason world has as many users as it does is because it was basically the only instance that didn’t close it’s signups durring the first reddit exodus and that also had enough resources to handle the massive influx of users without completely breaking. Most people didn’t pick world for any reason other than it was the only instance they could sign up for at the time. Exactly. Also everyone’s so fucking uptight on day shifts. On nightswe can have radio banter and when somethings fucked I can conver that as creatively as I want. Theres no meetings on the off shifts, I just get to show up and do my job without bullshitting to management about how I’m doing my job. On off shifts as long as shit gets done noone seems to give a damn about how it gets done.
