It was more than that. I’m 1996 round trip tickets were 7500, about 12000 in today’s dollars. I can get a round trip ticket under 400 bucks today for NYC to LHR. So it wasn’t 3x, but 30x the price.
And most are willing to pay less even if it’s a 6 hour flight.

I was at a party with a small group of friends recently. We were all talking in a group and then one guy started watching tik/insta/whatever with the volume on. Everyone kinda looked at each other like wtf? I asked our friend if he wanted to borrow my headphones to watch that. He took the hint and rejoined the conversation. I still was gobsmacked someone would do that while hanging out with people.
That makes sense, I was thinking we would see it coming, but definitely not.

The Internet has become a very censored place in the last few years. Lots of words that aren’t cursed get censored: suicide, guns, sex, drugs, actual drug names. I think it started from tik tok censoring words cause china, but also people afraid to ‘trigger’ others and then it kinda became its own thing unfortunately.

Yup, hating on the next generation is a tale as old as time. Idk why, but every generation seems to do it. Maybe it’s being uncomfortable with them being different or afraid of their youthfulness. I don’t get it.
