Here to peacefully gay the pray away, by force!
No, that defeats the purpose of the fediverse and its structure. This avoids power mods from taking over since they’re different instances. People can always cross post to the same community across different instances.
Top left lines, settings, username settings, uncheck show read posts.
You can use your World account to post in communities on a different instance, but if you want to join that instance you need to make a separate account.
It’s best you have one account on World, go to the top where it says communities, search under all, and subscribe to what appeals to you. You can still interact with the other instance with no issue.
Instances are completely separate servers. The downside is if World goes down, then you can’t do much, but you can login to a Blahaj account and still use Lemmy like normal, except access World posts. So the idea is to create your own instance and customize your feed, if a major instance is down it doesn’t impact your ability to browse instances that are still up.
No, I blocked those communities that talk about Reddit. My feed had been pictures and memes mostly.
I love how World and Blahaj are lgbt friendly and anti authoritarianism, unlike .ml.
Kbin doesn’t have that option. I have kbin and thinks it’s better than Lemmy but there’s not enough customization or apps at the moment for me to make that switch.
Not at the moment. You can only select three sort type for posts and your default homepage. But these are in the works.
I thought it said trans enthusiasts.
Yes it does. It’s a hard setting for your Lemmy profile that is applied to your account, which effects your apps. Some apps allow you to change this in the settings.
Thunder > Summit > Wefwef > Jerboa > connect
There is minor differences that each has. The best feature that I look for is swipe to upvote, compact view, thumbnails on left, clean inbox and messaging. Unfortunately due to the lag, anytime I post or want to save a post I go into the browser as none of the apps successfully post.
I blocked all the Reddit communities and instances. Lemmy needs to be it’s own thing which require community involvement, not reposting shit posts from Reddit.
There have been major updates on each app nearly everyday and the devs are great at intending requests. At first, you could only view posts with no option to post or login.
I really like Jerboa, which has been down the past week after the latest update. It has a clean layout, can be fast, and is the best for posting but lacks in a few areas that the others have.
Connect has been the snappiest, it loads thumbnails and has a more clearly defined “thumbnail click area” to a “title text /comments click area” then other apps.I love to swipe to upvote. But, I frequently get an error some posting, which leads to double posts.
Summit had the best layout, list 2, which feels more comfortable an be the dev said he’ll add left handed mode, which would be nearly identical to rif. It has a history feature so I can go back to a post I viewed if I wanted to upvote it still. It didn’t always load the thumbnail, but I think that’s Lemmy world issue since there’s been a lot of lag this week.
Edit: I still frequently use the browser version on my phone to see my notifications and respond to posts, as all the apps give me an error while posting due to the lag.
The best method to keep track is save posts as a favorite or use an app, specifically Summit keeps a history of all posts you’ve visited.
I keep switching between Summit, Jerboa, and Connect
Only real men that are comfortable in their sexuality make out with their bros and still be straight.
The 196 and 195 communities have only 1 rule. If you visit the community, you must post.
You must post constantly, it’s the rule.
Lemmy is in a sweet spot that old early 2k forums had. Active enough to engage with people but small enough where it’s not trashy and circle jerky.
Practically one foot in the grave, time to retire.
