Humans are insanely creative sometimes… I’m doing my part! One frame drawn!
Monkey paw: your account gets flagged and eventually you go to jail
Goddammit. This is so stupid… I love it.
This is exactly it. They don’t care about your post or you or anyone really. For them, it just feels good to bring down others.
I’m sorry, but you didn’t answer in the form of a question. Minus 3 bones.
I didn’t believe you, so I looked up those cases. While there’s a little more nuance to the cases than your summaries, you are pretty spot on. We are all cursed with this disgraceful knowledge now.
One of the few websites I willingly give money on a regular basis. Considering its impact and reliability, the ~$20 I give yearly is a phenomenal deal.
In case people didn’t know, Opossums eat ticks (lots of them), and other pests. And, they are naturally rabies resistant.
These kinds of moments make us want to withdraw, but please keep family and friends nearby. Genuine people on Lemmy care about your well-being, which means the real people close to you even more so.
I’m sorry for your loss and wish you healing.
Thanks for sharing a bit about your life. I’m very proud of you (however much that means) and agree 100% with what you wrote.
However, I have also been on the receiving end. The childhood experience of watching racists shout slurs at my parents in a grocery store has permanently impacted my perspective.
Many try to ignore or debate with racists for years, and the violence you see often is the last resort.
You bring up legitimate concerns, but I think the bigger point here is that the Fediverse is not Reddit, nor should it be. I find that fragmentation mitigates the system manipulation and “gaming” that is often tied to people who rely on exposure.
It’s all of the heavy breakfast foods I love, but an amount that doesn’t make me want to take an immediate nap. Oof, now my tummy is grumbling.
It’s a little buried in the account settings, but Netflix does allow account sharing for an additional fee (~$7?). I know families that went with this option so they could continue sharing their account with elderly parents, and college aged children.
I imagine that if a group of friends agreed to split the cost of an account + fees, they would end up paying less than having individual accounts.
… son, and holy ghost…
