Something I have heard (take with a grain of salt) is that there was a new windows update that went out just before the crowdstrike update. And the issue happened with the new windows update.

The real thing stopping mass adoption of Linux is that few people want to fiddle around with their machines to that degree. For the vast majority of users, it just needs to run and be able to run whatever programs are needed, and the easier it is to do so, the better.
Judging from my own doctors experience, they are way overbooked. Can’t get a personal experience when they gotta see a couple dozen more people the same day.
