  • Look I know these threads are wack when we get to deep and memory fails even the best of us, it’s fine.

    1. Fiivemacs asked about why no gloves.
    2. You said they needed the fine motor skills
    3. Fiivemacs agreed with you, citing the kitchen thing(and by extention how they hamper fine motor skills.
    4. You made it about sanitation, didn’t want to be corrected, and then asked why we were all talking about sanitation.

That’s all there is to it.

  • Actually not wearing gloves and washing your hands regularly is, I believe, generally bettee for sanitation. There’s a lot of false confidence and shit with gloves, and they cost money and are technically a limited resource. You should always have them on hand, especially for if you get cut and need to wear a bandaid, but washing your hands as needed is totally fine.

And as it relates to this conversation they have a point in that gloves fucking suck to wear. They’re weirdly sticky and also even tight ones are like wearing loose skin and it just kinda sucks. Again, super great to have around and they can be awesome for some tasks where you just do not want to have to do anything more than removing the glove and rinsing, but the point stands.

  • Do you have a source because it really does not destroy the fibre unless you’re doing an incredible fine grind which a blender simply is not capable of, certainly for the 10-20s it takes to make a smoothie. You’ll need a source on this.

Nuts aren’t unhealthy seriously what are you talking about? A bunch of extreme examples that never really happen?

No but you see these regulations are mean and if you take them away, even though they came about because corporations were abusing their freedom, then the corporation will give everyone money and finally respect their employees/their customers/the planet!

But not if they’re told to >:(

  • Right but if Windows is now becoming a problem then it’s a start. And so many software developers I know use MacBooks for their job and say that they’re just better for the work. Microsoft is hoping that the fear of change means they can do whatever they want, if they even have any thoughts in their thick heads at all that is, and don’t seem to realize that at some point even the most devoted users will have to face the fact that there are better options.

Fuck Windows, it’s such an ass product that’s only selling point right now that some key products don’t work on anything else simply because the developers of them don’t want to do the work and not because it has some magic sauce that a Mac or Linux machine doesn’t.

That is cultural. It’s poison you take to change your mind state and small enough amounts are usually tolerable enough to not cause too much of a problem. I have a drink from time to time but to say otherwise is incorrect.

That said, I’m not sure where I said that it was.

  • The free breakfast is different, though. You’ve introduced it to the conversation and are leaning into it but it’s different than the post to which you made your original comment. The free lunch is not, unlike the vitamin water, a replacement for significant monetary compensation.

And no one has even said whether or not the person who took the picture took them or not, nor whether they would themselves. They are made because they’ve been, essentially, stolen from in broad daylight and are expected to be grateful for it.

Yea, I’m not that desperate, though. These worthless acts should be openly mocked for exactly what they are: management’s idea that we are stupid enough to actually be fooled by that shit.

It would be far more worth it to me to take the bottles and return them than give them any satisfaction and/or validation. They are worth so little to me that I don’t mind throwing them back and management should know that. These aren’t “treats”, they’re cheap replacements for significant moneyary compensation.

Free breakfast is certainly a little bigger than this, but it still doesn’t actually do anything to help anyone. It’s just another thing they can point to to pretend like they care while ignoring the only thing that will ever truly matter which is that they need to fucking pay us. I’ve had bosses before that pull that shit and then you ask for a raise that at least matches inflation and they try to tell you that “inflation doesn’t work that way.”

So if we’re talking “mindsets” I really don’t have much time for people that think shit like vitamin water instead of a bonus is a “treat” we need to be grateful for. I never did like the taste of boot.
