My cat is better at barking than you are :-)
Also, my dad can beat up your dad, or something like that.

Not that I’m aware of. Go nuts.

Fexofenadine is also by far the best I’ve used for my allergies. I have no side effects from them, no sleepiness and they work in 20 min. I use the 120mg variant.

Would you like to share how you think i could become part of the solution?

Our cat is as dangerous and brave as Toulouse and also never grew bigger than kitten size.

She’s have always been an indoor cat. We don’t believe she would last long outside on her own, with her two functioning brain cells.

It’s all good points! Seems like I won’t run out of things to read here. Thanks, I really appreciate it.

Our cat is not much into catching mice. We once lived in an allotment house, which is mostly a shed. We once had a mouse in our bedroom, and we had to wake up the cat. We placed her near the mouse, so she could see it. She just lied down and continued to sleep.

It’s primarily Linux posts that’s left haha. Luckily, I don’t mind that, as I have recently started using Linux again.

Thanks! And thank you for a civil discussion. I will at some point look it up. If you have some resources you could recommend, that would be nice. I guess there a lot of good but also bad readings on the subject out there.
I’ve volunteered a lot before I got kids, where I was mentoring children of refugees. But having two kids under the age of 5 is a full time job beside my full time job, so currently there’s not many hours left of the day to do volunteering.
But I do still try to do small things here and there to improve the world around me.

I believe not reading news is what got us here. Too many have given up and don’t take a stance, which allows the situation to just get worse and worse.
But, I also stopped reading news. I stopped the day Trump won the election. The world is a shit show and I won’t allow my mood to get dragged down every day. I have a family and kids and I want them to have a good life and a fun dad to be around.
If things like what happens with the ICE raids are happening, the Epstein files, dictatorship suddenly threatens everything I’m not burying my head in the sand, but I want to dose the amount of news I consume.

I definitely get that! And it is definitely an issue. Personally, I feel like the state of the world is constantly knocking on my door. It’s almost claustrophobic. I vote for parties and politicians I believe in, I try to avoid supporting the ones who try to fuck up our world by not using their products or buy them.
But besides that, I not sure what else I can do, and I’m definitely up for suggestions.

Cat posts never disappoints. I should contribute soon.

Sure, but i’ve just reached a point where I don’t want to get bummed out, everytime I open a social media app.
There must be positive things to talk about, and not just the enshittification of everything and the end of the world.

I have a filter on
My All Feed is basically empty now or consists of posts with zero or very few comments. I love the filter option, but it has also made it quite clear what is being pushed the most on Lemmy.

I have nothing to compare to, but I recently bought a Dell OptiPlex 9020 for $15/£13. It works wonders. I run a handful docker containers and a VM and haven’t experienced any issue since I bought it. It’s my first time experimenting with a home lab setup.
But still, wouldn’t renewable assets suppliers have an incentive to install assets in these areas? If the spot price is high and they can produce “free” electricity, their earnings are a lot higher than the fossil fuel plants.
Of course, you are right, omnivore. I still get my veggies, haha. My wife never became a vegetarian, and I’m the only vegetarian in our extended family, so I’m minority here and I didn’t really wanted to take the fight. Also, I try to hide the fact that I don’t eat industrial meat, from my kids. I don’t want to influence them in anyway, and if they ever want to become vegetarian, I hope it’s not because of my influence but because of their own reasons, if that makes sense.
We have an overpopulation of red deer in our local area. I’m buying it from a local estate and they only have the stock they have. If a product is sold out, it’s sold out until the hunting season begins again. I actually don’t mind that in any way. I absolutely hate industrial farming, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with regulation of wildlife, and it helps in preserving biodiversity.
Tons of wildlife meat goes to waste each year in my country, and it’s instead used for other purposes, e.g. Fertilizer.
Besides that, for those who want to eat meat, it’s seems illogical to me, not eating the meat we have at hand before starting to buy meat from industrial farms. I believe it tastes better in every way than what you get from industrial farms.
I’ve been vegetarian for almost 10 years, but then I got kids and we didn’t want to make separate dinner each night, so now I also eat wild game, e.g. pheasants, red deer, wild ducks, etc. Am I just a regular carnivore or does there exist a word for my weird ass choice?
I still haven’t eating any meat from conventional or organic farms for more than 10 years.

In denmark he have the tradition of eating kransekage which is only available in bakeries and grocery shops around new years eve.
I’m still quite new to Lemmy. I still don’t quite get how it all works, haha. I’m using the Thunder app (don’t ask me why), and when I go to settings it’s the second option I’m presented with. Then you just add keywords for the things you’d like to filter out.
