Which is how I THOUGHT Lemmy would be when I signed up. It’s definitely not that way. I still love Lemmy, but oy, the user base here do not like opinions that go against the norm/majority. They seek revenge. Follow you around to downvote comments, etc. It’s crazy.
Same reasons that ad tiers are gaining a foothold in streaming services like Netflix. The consumer has shown they are fine with it.
Yep, I remember when Netlfix first put it out there that they would start with the ads, and everyone on reddit was like, “Canceling my Netflix right now!!”
Netflix is doing just fine without the 5 redditors who actually did cancel it. lmao

Well, I mean, I did post a disclaimer right after posting the original article in question, in an effort to deflect this “attention.” Um, didn’t seem to work in that thread in the original community. :/
And I posted here for a technical answer since my posting history shows nothing every posted to the instance (which I’d never even heard of until today) that banned me.

Yeah I read the thread and saw how you left out the context with the screenshots proving you got permabanned from an entire instance for being “toxic”. The fake sounding comments in your history don’t convince me that’s wrong either.
I posted the link to the thread though. I didn’t leave out the context, because all the links are in that, and you can go up the thread tree as far as you want. I linked to the part where he posted the screenshot.
Also, there’s no instance in my entire posting history of ever interacting with that community. So I was curious how I could be banned from a place I’ve never posted to.
Do you have any info about what I supposedly posted that got me banned? The only two instances I’ve posted to are here on .world and a few times on .ml, and I’m not banned from either of those.

Because I had a question about what it meant. And I didn’t understand what the user was meaning and I have never even been to the instance that banned me. And I’ve received some helpful answers. After I posted, I realized that it was probably better to send to No Stupid Questions, so I crossposted. I def can see how tech people would be annoyed with my question tho, sorry!
That user just got banned from World News sub and just now had comments removed from the c/politics sub I was talking with I’m in. So now I realize that he’s actually full of shit.

Because as many in the tech thread said, it could be for nothing. There are no specific posts that show me even posting to that sub. So it’s not proof of anything other than some person in some instance (where there is no proof that I even posted) decide that they would ban me. And my post history also shows ZERO evidence that I ever posted there.
And really hard to take your seriously. Besides just being banned from World news for your comments. You’ve just had some comments here, that were directed towards me, removed for civility.
