absolutely zero value to YouTube this is not true. non-paying users will like, comment, share to others making the platform more popular. and if they’re ads were less intrusive they would actually be more likely to be shown.

half of the websites are google-owned
there’s dozens of gaming subreddits already though. like truegaming or something else. i don’t think many existing subreddits will do this. i do think nsfw creators will paywall their posts
however if reddit goes that route i hope OF sues apple/google. I don’t like how some nsfw apps like reddit or x are allowed but others aren’t
bots take resources to serve just like any regular user
combine card with 2fa on mobile or confirm via sms would solve most problems
how? open ai isn’t funneling views to news sites it ripped from
ads cost money to increase users to eventually profit from them later.
how would a decentralized lemmy profit from the increased users.
Any money spent on ads would be better off hiring more engineering resources and improving lemmy for the next time Reddit does something dumb prompting an exodus.
not every game you own can be used this way.
because you have to extrapolate.
publishers don’t want you to own games just lease them so they can deprecate games and make you upgrade when they want to.
also no more mods or cheatengine to enhance the game or bypass microtransactions
reddit requires you to go out of your way to enable nsfw. tiktok is pretty heavy handed in moderation, but i still get some spam videos of nsfw content
Brevity is the soul of wit
i didn’t think it was a big problem but i could see how some people are slower to react and pressure gets to them
but i also think it’s weird when npcs wait forever for player input. but we’re not there yet
yeah but then you have to play a console without mods or cheap games
try buying a used GPU and game on 1080p monitor and you’ll be able to have great graphics without a lot of money
youtube is more secure than reddit.
it’s hard to offer that much video content for free
unlikely especially if they’re paying for other services. they’ll most likely prevent playback
and now it’s bundled in the most popular desktop os. so you have options
yeah but it’s nice to know what has actually been removed so you can get the song/video elsewhere
kinda makes sense. it’s like if a youtube video or soundcloud track gets DCMA’d then they’re going to remove the link.
if it was you actual browser bookmark i would understand the outrage.
im still on FF tho
raytracing in control did make a slight difference as you could see enemies around the corner that rasterized games couldn’t render since the object is not in screenspace
also it should allow easier development in the future when every device is capable of it since they won’t have to put as many lighting hacks
thanks. exactly my point
