Are those cameras in the retail space? There are cameras at public spaces, whether it’s Walmart, the DMV or the foyer of a police station. They aren’t there to surveille employees, they are there to prevent or record crimes.

People here are advocating to have cameras in office spaces, to specifically surveil employees. What the fuck is going to happen for people in home office? That’s illegal af, at least where I come from. And who is going to monitor these cameras? The local sheriff’s office? And who is going to review all that footage?

  • It’s because people aren’t wired that way. There’s a name for that phenomenon, but I forgot.

The idea behind it is that people make up “reasons” (conspiracy strategies) that fit the event. A big event needs a big reason, they can’t just accept that some things happen due to accidents or just by chance.

That’s why Covid can’t have been natural, it must have escaped from a lab! The government is giving us free vaccines? It can’t be that they just want to get us back to work, there must be a secret plot behind that!

  • You can add a private DNS in the settings. It’ll allow you to have a dns level ad blocking experience without having to use any of the dubious ad blocking apps. You also don’t need root or a VPN.

I’m using my own dns server, but keep in mind that it needs to support DoT. You can’t just enter any IP, because of the certificate check (the dns requests are encrypted using TLS).

dns.adguard.com works, but as is the case with all dns services, they will be able to see every domain you access. So keep that in mind.
