I personally think this is a cop out. Obviously people would have been outraged either way, but personally my only issue is about how it was done. The whole point of the FOSS community is openness and transparency. You know that Russia wasn’t able to compete in the Olympics or Paralympics this year, right? The individual athletes weren’t banned however, but they had to compete under a neutral banner and weren’t in the parade of nations.

Reminds me of a comment the other day on a post about Ventoy. Yeah absolutely this. I’ve seen too often in trans spaces when these sorts of accidents aren’t given any leeway or grace. We’re all human though, and it bothers me when folks are put down when there was zero malicious intent.
