Mine’s a top load from 1997 so isn’t really an issue for me. May have to plan to shuffle them when these finally give out, though.
I’m surprisingly level-headed for being a walking knot of anxiety.
Ask me anything.
I also develop Tesseract UI for Lemmy/Sublinks

Yep, to all that, and I’ve often grumbled the same things.
I said months ago that we were going to “single issue” our way to Trump 2.0, and I’ve never ever wanted to be wrong more than when I said that.
US, but my washer is on the right, dryer on the left. I’ve never questioned it, lol. Though they came with the house (hey, if they ain’t broke) and I didn’t move them from where the previous owner had them.
Yeah, definitely.
I hope @[email protected] sticks around on another instance.
I hacked an e-bike battery into mine, so I just leave it in since removing it is a pain.
I figured if the lithium battery in my car can deal with it, the one in the mower should as well.
That,too.
I’ve been meaning to try out a Fairphone
Framework needs to make a phone lol.
“Kim Kardashian slams neighbor’s gate sparking an unhinged reaction. Tune in at 11 for more coverage of Gate-gate.”
I used to fix phones back in the dumbphone days. Other than needing a special screwdriver, it was extremely straightforward as long as you were careful with the ribbon cables. I guess I don’t have anything to add, lol, I was just reminiscing.
I actually still have two of the tiny torx screwdrivers I used to use. They’re magic because they seem to fit about every tiny random device I’ve needed to disassemble and I’ve had them for 17 years without losing them.
When I email someone a quick question that could be answered in like 6 words and, 90 seconds later, they’re calling my phone.
Dunno about apps, but I made Tesseract’s modlog viewer highly filterable on the web. It’s not as great on mobile as it is on desktop, but you can filter by user/moderator/community as well as mod action on both. (the same info is available, it just looks better on desktop. improving mobile modlog is on my to do list but I only ever need the basics when I’m away from a PC 🤷🏻♂️).
I tried to make it like Kibana/Splunk where you can click a +
or -
next to an entity to add/remove it to the filter.
The hosted instance I run defaults to Lemmy World, so you can actually view LW’s modlog live at https://tesseract.dubvee.org/modlog
Congrats. This is my last remaining form of social media, but once I got my feed and block lists curated, it’s been pretty great here.
Cool, thanks!
Is there a Github link?
I want to see OpenAI fail, but not like that.
Complete opposite here, though both are getting expensive.
Electric price per kWh has a little more than doubled since I bought this house in late 2019. Gas has nearly tripled, and they haven’t even finished easing in the rate hikes yet (public service commission approved the gas company’s hikes, but only if they were gradually phased in).
I’m curious to an actual, scientific answer, but I do something similar, and here’s my anecdotal results:
I’ve got one of those electric fireplaces (fancy 1500w space heater basically) in my den, and I usually spend a lot of time in here (it doubles as my WFH office). I’ll turn the central thermostat down about 5 degrees and just run the fireplace while I’m working in there. When I’m done, I’ll bump the main thermostat back up.
My furnace is gas, and the price keeps rising every year, but doing this over the last 3 years, my gas bill has stayed relatively flat even though the price has skyrocketed. I think it averages me an extra $20 at most on the electric bill which is less than the gas would have cost.
Granted, I live by myself, so I don’t have to worry about other people in other rooms getting chilly lol.
Pretty much this.
If you’ve ever tried using a phone charger to continuously power something at or near its rated maximum output, you’ll find that after a while the power becomes unstable and the charger often quite warm.
e.g. Continuously powering a Raspberry Pi or USB powered computer monitors.
Hinge is on the right-hand side.
