Absolutely not, but when you insist on putting words in my mouth and then arguing with that straw man, there is little use in arguing. You are here to hold forth, not discuss.

I don’t agree. Neither the IDF nor Hamas fall under Geneva Convention (GC) protections because both have brazenly and repeatedly contravened it, thus excluding themselves under the GC’s own stipulations. They are both doing sick shit and are both lending more fuel to each other’s propaganda fires.
You’ll soon see that nuance is dead on Lemmy. Hamas indubitably commits war crimes en masse, as does the IDF, but morons will only ever excuse those of Hamas, rather than condemning both sets of actions.
Waking up to a broken nextcloud (overnight! Look, no hands!) was the single reason I finally got acquainted with docker containers
I feel your last line. I’m a competent user (read: great at following tutorials) and couldn’t get HA/mosquitto/z2m all working together. I wish I could, but I wouldn’t dream of passing it to even my brother, it’s so far from plug and play. Huge shame, because it’s so attractive.
Fair point, they should be constructive, I guess.
Uf, this is not a great response. That citizen should stay and add their valuable voice to calls and demands for improvement.
Lol, what a waste
I use keepass, it’s worked great for years. No way I could remember passwords anyway without it.
I’ve seen a few people doing it, but I (and literally any companies scraping instances for content) just lol and move on.
I lie shamelessly to companies when signing up these days. They get fake DoBs, names, aliased emails, fake addresses, phones, the lot. Let them out that data on my profile without consent, hopefully they aren’t going to expend resources to penetrate that veil.
Oh oops, you haven’t pasted some cool copyleft licence below your words on this niche thread on a niche social media network so looks like I might remix and reuse your content without attribution… Unlucky
It’s not thriving. The devs are prickly arseholes, which is anathema to building a cooperative, volunteer-driven dev community and the tone of many mainstream communities is obnoxiously set by tankies amd their alts.
20 a month?! No way in hell reddit app access is worth that.
Didn’t that become an option at some point? I’m sure I’ve read there are apps you can pay for to have access. Fuck that, though. Make it a reasonable price, too, and I’d listen. No way I’m paying a fiver a month for reddit. Maye 1 or 2.
Bots are a fact of life, unfortunately.
Let apple take the flak for moving the market and then quietly copy because of course it’s more lucrative… classic.
Free speech is not an “inalienable” concept. To be honest, the adjective “inalienable” doesn’t well describe a “concept”, more “right” or a “privilege”. Nobody can take away a concept from you, only the exercise or realisation of that concept.
That said, the Lemmy dev’s code of conduct is not a binding document, and given their political views, I wouldn’t even bother opening it if I was adminning my own instance. And nobody owes you your freedom of speech - if an instance decides to enforce the rule “no talking about politics on Wednesdays”, nobody has any right to anything else. Preference, sure, but right? No.
