You’d probably like Paul’s Boutique by the Beastie Boys. You may also wanna try Nujabe’s Modal Soul.
It’s clearly a giant.
You should also take into account the animosity against lemmy.ml in general from some instances and communities. Something to do with the moderation here or something else.
The one about the head of my sister.
It was a total tragedy. My sister dies at fifteen in a train accident, all messed up. Except her head. While mourning for her, my family members start hearing rumors about her being miraculous. The rumors became a cult. The thing is, my sister’s head was invulnerable. Her head wasn’t damaged at all in the train wreck, and even dead, her head wasn’t decomposing.
People started coming to see it by themselves. It was true. Her head was pristine, but for us, for me, it was still my older sister. The cult became a part of the church. They built some temple for her head where people could go to see her. I remember the altar. It was all made of crystal, sometimes they put flowers there, giving it some color. Her head was inside a crystal cube on a pedestal, so people could watch her from every direction. They put her a crown, like a quinceañera (this is similar to a humble crown in one of those female beauty contests). To get to her head, people had to climb like a hundred crystal steps, curved, not straight.
My sister’s head wasn’t neither alive. The head didn’t age but also wouldn’t talk. Her eyes were always shut, but you could see her face, her mouth displaying different recognizable expressions, like a shy smile or some concern. She looked beautiful.
Probably the invasion of our civilization by an army of some rock-like anthropomorphic civilization. They were intelligent and very hard to hurt. Even if I dreamed them as a child, I still remember their faces and big heads with those cat eyes. They were never alone and sized like robust basketball players.
Delonix regia, the original flamboyant.
They should ask ChatGPT hoe to make OpenAI profitable. I’m sure the answer will make them take off.
For this, some people proposed to move the community from one instance to another. Now, it seems to me like the incentive to comment on instances ideologically biased for people who cares about the voting system is basically to troll the opposing instance. Which leads to this petty battle that I will ignore from now on.
EDIT: It’s also interesting to note that lemmy.ml is not like any other instance. In fact, it would be beneficial to not have big communities here. My account is here because it’s an old account, but lemmy.ml should be more like a “testing” instance, and they probably shouldn’t be signing up more people. The admins and devs acknowledge this from time to time. So, I guess everyone wins with this.
You can try again. Take all the attempts you need.
Wow. Now I’m impressed. I was set on a Kobo Libra, maybe even the Color, but this sounds great.
Sounds pretty good but also battery intensive. How is battery life in this device?
That will show BRICS countries what not to buy.
I’m running the KDE spin, because, well, just because. It was a bit strange to think about it, like “Nautilus? I’m not having that problem. Wait a minute”. This year I stopped using GNOME, nothing specific about it, just wanted to try Plasma. Wanted to experience the old convenience of Linux to just switch to another DE with a couple of commands.
I think we agree on everything. You do you.
I upgraded yesterday, thinking I may have not enough time to do it the rest of the year. It already works great in my AMD Ideapad.
I am kind of unemployed and just maintaining the house in order would take away those 24h in a breeze. Keep your house pretty, in order and well supplied.
I know I can. Being blocked is something I do not have any issues with. My comment was merely my point of view. If someone is being actively bothered by the admins of the instance I’m in, it’s completely fair to block it. However, to block whole instances for ideological differences is kind of immature.
I hope people do not do that and take into account this campaign against lemmy.ml. I am aware of the accusations against the admins of this instance, but I practically never see here this kind of brigading, campaigning against whole instances like lemmy.world. Sure, I myself did make a bad comment or two about lemmy.world out of >800 comments, but that’s normal. I think the fair thing to do, is to respond in the same scale (i. e. blocking specific users) instead of going all ballistic with instance blocks.
I’d also like an option to just block/hide the instance part of user names. I don’t like what this bit of information is doing to discussions in Lemmy.
You just gotta fight back and live your life. Sounds simple, but in my country, we lived through “the perfect dictatorship”. We know this shit.
