Maybe a dumb question, trying to get the hang of things over here. Is there an app for this? Or is that like a needs to be developed long term plan? Mobile functionality on my older mobile is fine but not as great as former 3rd party reddit apps but maybe that’s an unreal standard here.
Thoughts?
On iOS there is mlem, on Android there is Jerboa, which is still a bit janky, and the devs of some popular Reddit apps have also said they are willing to port theirs to Lemmy.
Rocking Mlem right now. It’s nice but not a great stability yet.
“are considering” might have been better wording, as the Sync developer hasn’t decided yet. For RedReader it’s pretty much guranteed to happen eventually as the app is open source.
Additionally, there is a Reddit to Lemmy API translation layer which could accelerate this.
There’s also a discussion for Infinity:

There’s also a translator proxy people are working on:

Which Reddit had the guts of flagging as “potentially innapropriate for some users” so you can’t view it on the web!
It doesn’t seem like the main developer has said anything yet, though, that’s why I didn’t include it in my list. But hey, it’s open source, so I’m sure someone will contribute a pull request!
(edited my comment with one more thing)
Hah, I edited the same thing into my comment earlier :)
edit: also that “unreviewed content” popup is such a scourge. it seems to pop up completely randomly, just to force you to use the app. glad to be off that platform.
