I was older than 30 when those memes came around.

This feels like watching Rick and morty’s interdimensional cable
Mr TCandlejack ate my ballsOr Duckroll, the inspiration for Rickro
Perhaps the thing from that time that aged like the finest of wines was “LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE.” Cara was at least a solid decade ahead of her time.
That’s a lucky era of memes that will likely survive for awhile. Finding old stuff from albinoblacksheep or the like isn’t too hard.
I’m sad about all the YoutubeHaiku bullshit that didn’t survive long because of copywrite strikes and all. I look at old saved playlists and it’s all deleted stuff.
Oh no! How did he post the comment after Candlejack got hi-
Oh shit, there’s a sni

Hello all you gentlemen.
Make your time.
What he say?
And his name is “JOHN CENA!!”
Also the classic deez nuts
Deez nuts might actually predate the web
It does indeed. I first saw it used online in a Usenet flamewar post back in the 1980’s.
In high school the class that graduated before me took a class picture, and all the jocks lined up in the front with their uniforms on. Then, when they took the “crazy” picture they pulled off their uniforms and had “DEEZ NUTZ” written on their shirts. They lied and said it was an inside joke, and when the faculty got all the pictures they realized what they did. So they had the entire yearbook committee draw Zorro capes and masks on them, and attempt to change the shirts to say “ZORRO” for some reason.
This was in 1999.
People say they want memes like we used to have back, only to flip out when a late 2000s/early 2010s style gmod thing blows up.
Yeah honestly I only still like a lot of the old stuff because of nostalgia. If it all came back in full force it would get old quick.
I grew up with gmod idiot box and dane cook bits animated with stick figures.
I think the kids today are doing just fine, at least on the memes front.
Either grandpa has very specific taste in old memes or I’ve missed a lot of shoe-based content…
Grandpa… damn Daniel was like 10 years ago?
I’m referring to grandpa Simpson (pictured in OP) here 😁
Fair
Me trying to explain why anything was funny on YTMND to younger generations.
Granted it’s hard for me to understand why most of it was funny to me either.
Lots of young folks with time to dedicate to surfing were at the right age where lolrandom was peak humor. They were ripe to receive the shit posts of prodigious animators congregating on Newgrounds and Ebaums etc
It’s sad that so many animations from the Golden Age of Flash are lost forever
you can choose to not be like that.
enjoy your old memes but realize you used to be a dumb kid too.
Isn’t that the point of the meme? Old memes were just as stupid as new ones.
Yeet is still the best word created to date… although maybe even that one might fund itself an old man soon
i still use it regularly.
Ill never stop, language is speeding up how fast it changes though, so I dunno if yeet is old yet xD
Yeet those feelings geezer
Counterpoint:
Based
I dont know whether you are for or against based but… Based
I never understood the Damn Daniel meme. Like was it ever actually a meme, or is it a meme that it was a meme at all? Cuz I never actually hard anyone actually say that, aside from the occasional youtube poop video.
It was just a viral video series, at the time. I think they were popular on Vine. I definitely have heard it used a couple of times in real life, but mostly just when somebody got some new shoes or something.

Am a Daniel and I was in High School during it’s peak. I can assure you people said it a lot.
“What the fuck, Richard!?”
Man there was a whole reddit thread of replies I had saved at one point of other one liner vids like that. Was always good for a laugh on a glum day.
My favorite was Trogdor. Legend has it he’s still burninating the countryside to this very day
Trogdor is the millennial litmus test.
Guile’s Theme Goes with Everything was my all time favorite meme. Followed closely by Chuck Norris jokes.
These days I’m really into Bully McGuire.
I preferred when they were originally Vin Diesel jokes, not the least in part because Chuck Norris is a chud
I try to stay open minded but geez, ‘gyatt’ really bugs me. It’s just a re-phoneticized spelling of half the phrase ‘got damn’, telephone-gamed into a noun somehow.
I can enjoy or at least accept everything else but please. Stop talking about gyatt.
it’s clever at least. I’ll give em that.
Isn’t it a UK slang? It was fine until the sidemen mentioned it in a video and it led to this brainrot. And the Turkish velly dancing guy unintentionally made skibidy famous.
Holds up spork.
There’s a company near me with a product called “Damn, Daniel” and I refuse to buy it, look at it, recommend it, or discuss it with anything less than disdain.
